All taxpayer inquiries, including requests for inspection or production of records maintained by the assessor’s office, to arrange a meeting with an assessing official or to discuss your assessment change notice prior to the March meeting of the Board of Review shall be made by either phone or email.
All inquiries will be responded to within 7 business days.
Please be informed--Aurelius Township Assessor or Assessing Assistant may be in your area to take exterior pictures and measurments of your home and buildings to put in your parcel's assessment file. They do have identification. If you have questions call the township office at 628-2093.

2023 Board of Review
The Aurelius Township Board of Review will be held at the Township Hall, 1939 South Aurelius Road, Mason, MI 48854, on the following dates:
Tuesday, March 7, 1:30 p.m. – Organizational Meeting only
Monday, March 13, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Appeal Hearing
Wednesday, March 15, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Appeal Hearing
The Board of Review will meet as many more days as deemed necessary to hear questions, protests, and to equalize the 2023 assessments. Letters are accepted as appeal, provided they are received prior to 3 p.m., March 15. Send letter to the Aurelius Township Board of Review, 1939 South Aurelius Road, Mason, MI 48854.
The tentative ratios and the estimated multipliers for each class of real property and personal property for 2023 as provided by the Ingham County Equalization Department are as follows:
Agricultural 46.73% 1.06998
Commercial 46.55% 1.07412
Industrial 46.24% 1.08132
Residential 43.08% 1.16064
Personal 50.00% 1.00000
State Equalized Value (SEV) represents 50% of the True Cash Value of the property. Taxable Value (TV) is the lower of the SEV or the 2022 TV multiplied by the Consumers Price Index (1.05). Transfers of ownership in 2022 will cause the cap in taxable value to be removed, making the taxable value equal to the SEV for 2023.
